The World Helpline Team announces commencement of emergency assistance in connection with the 7.2 magnitude in Haiti that has left up to 3 million people affected.
Having worked in Haiti since 1992, The World Helpline Team is appealing for disaster supplies it its 84th disaster response since 1975.
The team has been to nearly every disaster and is currently operating in Iraq as well. Most recently teams to Taiwan to assist with the terrible typhoon and Indonesia to the recent earthquake.
Supplies needed include:
- Bottled water
- Instant and canned food
- Powdered milk
- Rice
- Soap
- Used laptop computers
- Used GSM cellphones
- sleeping bags
- Tents
Volunteers able to go onsite:
- and/or Those able to donate airline mileage for team members
